Alan Barker

Alan Barker is a retired tax accountant who spent most of his working life in Guildford and Godalming. He now lives in Epsom with his wife Judy, just a horse’s gallop from the racecourse, while maintaining strong connections to Godalming and the surrounding area.

After retiring in 2018, Alan attended a creative writing course to pursue his long-held ambition to write fiction. He became a published author on 1 January 2019 and has since had a range of short stories and flash fiction pieces published through competitions, magazines, and Christopher Fielden’s Writing Challenges.

Outside of writing, Alan enjoys playing badminton and supporting his beloved Woking FC.
